A Salty Dog Throwback

Back in 1978, as Bruce Miller prepared to open his first surf shop, he needed a logo. Local artist and friend Paul Baliker carved Bruce’s likeness into a piece of driftwood. That hand-carved image became the heart of the original shop on East International Speedway Boulevard in Daytona Beach.

A few years later, the logo evolved into the now-iconic dog design, inspired by Bruce’s loyal companion, Salty, heading out for a perfect beach day.

Vintage shirts with the original logo still pop up, worn proudly by longtime fans. Now, by popular demand, we’ve brought back the original design in a limited reprint, offered alongside the shirt and the original driftwood carving.

Claim your piece of Salty Dog history and celebrate the spirit of those early surf days.
